History
The Barber family has been involved in the motor trade since 1946. When Lesly Barber was demobbed from the army he started a vehicle repair and petrol station on the south coast near Portsmouth. In due course the business was handed down to his son, Trevor Barber, who relocated the garage to its current location on the Welsh/Shropshire border near Overton on Dee. The business adopted the name Trotting Mare no doubt from the pub which lies opposite, for some reason no-one can recall the exact reason!
Today the garage is run by Trevors son Daniel who has implemented a few changes to the business adding larger workshops and more service ramps, an automated MOT test lane and new and used car sales.
That said Daniel believes that the importance of remaining an independent garage is integral to success of the business and its customers. We therefore offer a modern outlook combined with plain old fashion service.
